"Hiding and Seeking: Faith and Tolerance After the Holocaust"
Is it possible to heal wounds and bitterness passed down through generations? An Orthodox Jewish father tries to alert his adult sons to the dangers of creating impenetrable barriers between themselves and those outside their faith. He takes them on an emotional journey to Poland to track down the family who risked their lives to hide their grandfather for more than two years during World War II. Like many children of survivors, the sons feel that Poland is a country that is incurably anti-Semitic, but it is precisely here that they meet people who personify the highest levels of compassion. Hiding and Seeking explores the Holocaust's effect on faith in God as well as faith in our fellow human beings.

"A Yiddish World Remembered"
This documentary explores the Yiddish culture and society that grew out of the Jewish diaspora in Eastern Europe. Viewers are shown glimpses of daily life in the shtetl, a type of village found across the Pale of Settlement—one that may have lacked running water and electricity and suffered from poverty, overcrowding, and anti-Semitism, but one which was also a close-knit and joyous place. The film explores many aspects of that nearly vanished way of life—the fascinating Yiddish language; traditional clothing; education in the cheder, or schoolhouse; the rabbis and rebbes who often led Yiddish communities; and the powerful Jewish movements of Hasidism, Bundism, and Zionism.

Episode 9: "How Trailblazer Aneesh Chopra Makes Meaningful Change"
An episode featuring the United States' first Chief Technology Officer, Aneesh Chopra--one of 18 episodes I wrote and directed:
As a leader in both the public and private sectors, Aneesh Chopra has established a reputation as an innovator working for the public good.
As the historian and Steve Jobs biographer Walter Isaacson wrote:
“Aneesh Chopra has been the leader of the movement to use technology to revolutionize government in the same way technology has been used to transform other aspects of our lives. With inspiring stories and clear insights, he provides a playbook for open innovations that work both in the public and the private sector."

Feature Story: "MO Desinations: Beyond the White House"
"The pearls, the power suits, the president...Washington D.C. may be best known for its pomp and politics but the shopping is chic and modern, and a great way to tour the city...it has all the cosmopolitan trappings of a capital city but also carries the history of a Southern town."

News Story: "The Calm After the Storm"
"WHEN HURRICANE KATRINA unleased its fury on the Gulf Coast, 550 people were counting on John Thorhauer.
It was Aug. 29, the Stafford County native's first day as director of an Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport, Miss. It overlooked the ocean, separated from the water by 300 feet.
He was hired to supervise 416 residents, 50 of whom required nursing care.
He would fear for his life--and the lives of the people in his care--long before lunchtime."

Blog Article: "At Mount Sinai, Managing 10,000 Patients Is Personal"
"Robert Dean leaned back in his chair and took a moment to think. “For me, knowing that we’re doing the right thing for our patients at the right time, and that we’re getting them into a better place in terms of health and quality of life,” said Dean, “Well, I just love being part of that process and part of an organization that prioritizes that.”
That organization is New York City’s Mount Sinai Health System, where Dean works as a care navigator, helping patients with chronic conditions manage their health, including remaining adherent to their medications."

Feature Story: "Three Perfect Days: Victoria, B.C."
"VICTORIA IS QUIET. ALMOST TOO QUIET. Stand near the grandiose Parliament building at the Inner Harbor, and it’s impossible to imagine that this perfectly mannered island city was once a rough-andtumble gold mining hub, a sprawling carnival of disorder populated by industrious native Inuit and Métis traders, miners, Chinese opium smugglers, thieves and all manner of accompanying riff raff .
But today, all that remains of those times are the First Nations, descendants of the area’s original tribal inhabitants. The carnival is gone, replaced by a town as charming and peaceful as it was once restless. "
Hired by United Airlines' Hemispheres magazine to write a travel story on Victoria, British Columbia.
